The bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus Say) is a beetle with a 3 to 5mm length and an olive-brown colour with dark-brown spots. Its elytra only cover parts of its body, and its development from egg to adult bean weevil takes anywhere between 70 to 80 days at a 13° Celsius temperature. The bean weevil is primarily found in stocks of white, brown, pinto and broad beans.
EWS can fumigate your stored goods that are infested with the bean weevil. We fumigate bean weevils in contaminated supplies in the following forms: bulk, bags, big bags, silos, barges and containers. Fumigation will eliminate all stock destroying species in all their life stages.
